@John Grams: I never even thought of that probably because I am lucky enough not to have had that happen. Yes, that goes on the "bad" list for sure!

Another bad: As much as it is great to meet people, and reconnect with friends from highschool, sometimes you get found by those who were better left in the past.

John Gramss last blog post..Back in Action: And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda…

@Wendy: Downsizing is good. You will get more out of a network if you can put a little time in it. Too many networks and there just is not enough time!

@Lin: Yes, the more popular the blog is, the bigger target it becomes. Similar to what I said about Digg. If your story hits front page, get ready for some very nasty comments. Honestly, I think it is the ugly green jealous monster that comes out in people. They resent your success.

Have you ever painted a room in your house? Once it was painted, you quickly realized that the adjoining room needed to be painted now too.

Isn't that the truth. I have had to downsize the amount of Social Networks I belong to for just that reason.

I chose Quality over Quantity

Kelly, very well said. Watching from a distance the various "bad" stuff that often goes on (like online bullying), I've so far been fortunate to not get caught up in that nonsense or become the target of naysayers (yet).

It's unfortunate but true that some bloggers are so mean-spirited that their targets have been deluged with hateful emails, disturbing comments and viciousness.

I've heard numerous times that the more popular the blog, the more likely someone will verbally attack you online and offline. Grownups can act so childish. I personally believe more is learned about the online bully than their target, and I personally have to interest in being subscribed to such blogs or connect with them in any form on social media sites. Ick.
